Zollinger Ellison Syndrome (ZES) Foundation was established on June 8th, 2018 as a 501 3c Charitable Organization.
The ZES Foundation was developed out of a need and concern for individuals and families with ZES. The lack of understanding and education related to this rare disease creates multiple issues for those suffering from this disease such as misdiagnosis, mistreatment from multiple E.R. visits because not understanding the many issues one can have related to the disease, along with concern for financial hardship for these individuals and families has led to this point. Many individuals with this disease develop multiple gastrinomas (tumors), which are thought to have the potential to be cancerous (malignant), therefore concluding a need to support those affected by this disease. ZES affects most people between the age of 20-50, but those who have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia 1 (which is more than one or multiple tumors) affects any age from infant to adult.
The Zollinger Ellison Syndrome Foundation’s (ZES) mission is to provide education, awareness, and support through research for Zollinger Ellison Syndrome.
Providing excellence in supporting, researching, and finding treatments that are more effective and lead to a better quality of life for those with ZES.
ZES patients need to feel empowered and in control when it comes to their health and getting the best care they can get. Through education, research, and funding, this can be possible.
Honesty: Providing honesty, integrity, and transparency to promote trust and confidence in this charity.
Accountability: Serve as a steward by using the charitable donations from donors the way they are intended to do, through research of ZES treatments, for earlier diagnosis, and to provide financial assistance to families in need with medical/travel expenses. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of ethics, integrity, service, and fiduciary responsibility.
The goal of any organization is growth and sustainability. The ZES Foundation would love to partner with new and existing organizations that can benefit families who deal with ZES and provide the best outcome for sustaining productive life for those who battle with this disease.
