About Us

Who Are We?

The Zollinger Ellison Syndrome (ZES) Foundation was developed out of a need and concern for individuals and families with ZES. The lack of understanding and education related to this rare disease creates multiple issues for those suffering from this disease such as misdiagnosis, mistreatment from multiple E.R. visits because not understanding the many issues one can have related to the disease, along with concern for financial hardship for these individuals and families has led to this point. Many individuals with this disease develop multiple gastronomas (tumors), which are thought to have the potential to be cancerous (malignant), therefore concluding a need to support those affected by this disease. ZES affects most people between the age of 20-50, but those who have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia 1 (which is more than one or multiple tumors) affects any age from infant to adult.

Empowerment

ZES patients need to feel empowered and in control when it comes to their health and getting the best care they can get. Through education, research, and funding this can be possible.
